Of the Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was verbally inspired by God and written without error by Spirit-controlled men; and is all truth (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

Of the True God

We believe there is one and only one true and living God infinite in every excellence; and the supreme maker and ruler of the universe; that in the unity of the God-head there are three persons the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in
the great work of redemption (Exodus 20:2-3; Psalm 147:5; 1 Corinthians 8:6; John 1:3; 1 John 5:7).

We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was begotten of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary, and that He is very God Himself (John 1:1-2; 1 John 5:20; Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:26-38).

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with God the Father and Son and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals,
endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer (John 14:16; Matthew 28:19; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; John 3:5-6; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 4:30; Luke 24:49; Romans 8:14; Romans 8:16; Romans 8:26-27).

Of the Devil, or Satan

We believe that Satan, a distinct personality, is the unholy god of this age, author of all sin and spiritual darkness, and is doomed to eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Matthew 4:1-3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10).

Of the Creation

We believe God created the heavens and the earth in six literal 24-hour days as recorded in Genesis, including all life “each after its own kind,” and believe therefore, mankind came by direct creation and not by the process of evolution (Genesis 1-2; Colossians 1:16-17; John 1:3).

Of the Fall of Man

We believe that all mankind was created innocent in the image of God and by voluntary transgression fell into sin, and that, because of this fall, all men are sinners by birth with no spark of divinity; that all men are sinners, not only by constraint but by choice; and therefore under just condemnation without defense
or excuse (Genesis 3; Romans 5:10-19).

Of the Substitutionary Sacrifice for Sin

We believe that the salvation of sinners is only by the grace of God; through Jesus Christ when He voluntarily took upon Himself a human body and nature, yet without sin, by His suffering, death by crucifixion, burial, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of the Father, and by so doing made a full and substitutionary sacrifice for our sins; that this salvation is freely offered to all who will believe (John 1:1-3; 1:14; 3:1-7; Hebrews 10:4-14; Acts 16:30-33).

Of Salvation by Grace

We believe that faith (belief) in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation, and that this salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are instantaneous upon the acceptance of Christ. That this salvation is wholly of grace and in no wise dependent upon works, that no work, however good, makes that salvation more secure (Acts: 16-31; John 6:29; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7).

The Body of Christ

We believe that the Universal Church, which is His body, is composed of all the true believers (those who have been born again through a personal acceptance of Christ as Savior) from Pentecost to the rapture, that this Church was brought into being on the day of Pentecost and since that time others have been and are being added to the Church as they personally accept Christ as Savior, and that all believers are the Bride of Christ and shall never be separated from Him (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 1 Timothy 3: 1-7).

Of the Church

We believe that the Church is manifest through the local church which is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in it by His work; that its
officers are pastors and deacons; that it has the absolute right of self-government directed by the Holy Spirit and it is answerable only to Christ, and that in all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline, and benevolence the will of the local church is final (Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Timothy
3:1-15; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 6:4-5; 7:17; 11:16).

Of the Ordinances

We believe that there are two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
(1) Baptism: We believe that full immersion in water is the scriptural mode of baptism for the believer and is a solemn testimony of our faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior; and is a necessary prerequisite to church membership (Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5).
(2) Lord’s Supper: We believe that the Lord’s Supper is the commemoration by believers of His death until He comes, and our continual fellowship with Him, and should always be preceded by careful self-examination (1 Corinthians 11:23-32).

Of the Security of the Believer

We believe that all who accept Christ as their Savior are born from above and are eternally secure in Christ (Philippians 1:6.; John 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; Jude 1; John 3:3).

Of the Righteous and the Wicked

We believe that God looks on the unsaved as wicked and after death headed for eternal destruction; that in God’s eyes the saved are righteous through faith in the finished work of Christ and shall inherit eternal blessedness in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Lord (Malachi 3:18; Romans 6:17-23; Matthew 25: 34-41; John 8:21).
